Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather

So - I'm supposed to either (A) drag the battery into my flat every day, negating much of the convenience of a Lithium pack and maybe wearing discharge contacts out with constant plugging and unplugging, (B) suffer serious charging / balancing problems and volt drop issues due to Ping putting a cabl...

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather

I won't be able to look at the BMS as it will be tucked away inside the bike along with the battery. It is going in an ultralight battery-powered moped that faces the full horror of British city roads every day - a working mule-type road vehicle, albeit a lightweight one. It isn't going in a toy tha...

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather

They'd better be good - thanks to the rubbish exchange rate I blew my entire rebate! Hope the 5a chargers are worth the extra too - how long do they usually take to charge up?

Re: New battery technology claims 300Wh/kg

Perhaps it's just poorly translated, but... it does seem to be written in the sort scam-o-marketing speak you expect from Viagra salesmen and the like. Note the use of bold!!! Also notice that it has lots of exclamation marks!! And quite AMAZING claims!!!! Like being able to drive a car for 20 years...

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather

Thanks, I'm more interested in how they stand up to extended use in cold conditions - the baby moped is great in snowy, icy conditions as it's light, has a low centre of gravity and doesn't go fast enough to injure you if you do prang, and as there's no internal combustion engine to start from cold ...

Ping Batteries in cold weather

Hi there - is there anyone who has a Ping Battery and has used it in cold weather? I'm really interested in finding out how well they stand up to these extreme conditions as I'm definitely thinking of getting one this winter! Do they ever shut down due to low temperatures, and how do sub-zero temper...

Warning about fun2ride's batteries

Hi. I just got ripped off by fun2ride for at least 34 quid (and possibly £105) so I thought I'd warn yous all: Do not , under any circumstances, buy anything from http://fun2ride.co.uk as they are thieving scum. They just sold me three 12ah lead-acid batteries for £105, (*not* the £90 advertised due...
