Re: CALB CA series cell performances

Let me add to this - excessive heat is only generated by a cell when it is used outside of it's paramters. If you suck too high a current out of a cell then it will heat up. But if that cell is cold then the voltage will sag dramatically when cold - so you should only draw the ampage out that keeps ...

Re: Berlingo battery temp sensor / thermister

Chris - did you get your battery issues resolved as well?? or is it still useable in it's current condition?

Re: Motor Coupling

Yes I know that it is not good support. I understand that they are stepping back from the support of these cars. I have asked if they could give me the details of the supplier so I can go direct - but no response yet. Fingers crossed that they tell me. Mart I have left a message on your number. Chee...

Motor Coupling

My car has borken. The local Citroen garage have taken off the motor and confirmed that the coupler between the motor and gearbox shaft has lost it's teeth. I have spoken to ECCPLC and they tell me that they do not have any stock and are unable to get any - so I am a bit stumped at the moment. Does ...

Re: CALB CA series cell performances

Mike, I have got a custom BMS that was designed and built by the company that converted the Citroen C1's. It does quite a few things. It constantly monitors every cell voltage in the pack and when driving if any one cell drops below a certain threshold it reduces the power draw from the batteries. T...

Re: CALB CA series cell performances

I have got a Zivan NG3 in my car and I know that the BMS does throttle the charger back as the battery come to the end of it's charge. I believe that my BMS actively tries to balance my pack during charge. It does this by switching on a load to the cells with the highest voltage. This allows the low...

Re: CALB CA series cell performances

So that is just over £300 per kwh. I think that is a good price. Also, if you have got 20kwh in total I would think your range would be considerably more than 50 miles.

Re: Venturi Berlingo testing in Africa

They said it had 3 batteries. I wonder if that is 3 sets of cells in parallel - pretty much like your Tim - and with 500kms range ( 312 miles ) which is what I think your may well come in at.

Re: Long range lithium conversion

you have to remember that the capacity of your pack it calculated using the nominal operating voltage of the battery - and according to the manufacturer your batteries have a nominal voltage of 3.2 - times that by 51 cells gives you give 163.2 volts then you have 600ah of capacticy which gives 97.92...
