It's ok, I'm not in a huge hurry in any case having vast bills, etc to take care of. Could do with buying a few back issues of the magazine when I eventually get to a meet though - particularly the current one I think as it has an article on pedelcs I believe?

I'm ashamed to say I'll buy just about anything if I can pay for it by paypal. So something that's actually useful and worthwhile (like BVS membership) would be a neat change from the piles of junk I've accumulated during my latest online spending spree. Must go now, apparently they're selling Elvis...

That's exactly the kind of thing I'm rubbish at! I hate dealing with cheques, postal orders, and all that jazz. (also I'm really broke right now having spent all my money on duffo AAs  )

So, you got a date for the next meet? Or is it just every four weeks?

Er... I had a resistor in the circuit that limits current drawn to 2 Amp. Also by way of experiment I tried powering some other items off these batteries. They failed. Also I have some real 2aH batteries from Maplins and they are fatter and heavier, in fact they just about conform to the AA form fac...

Damn - wish I could come along so I could meet you all and buy a magazine and hand over some ka$h for membership (I'm rubbish at sending in forms) but as I've mentioned my book clubs is on Sunday so I can't.

Does anyone have a date for the next one so I can see about making some time for it?

Ha! Ha hahahahaha! Got the bike fixed and built the add-on and plugged it in. Worked fine for a couple of miles then started to peg out. Turns out those "2600 mA" batteries I bought are not 2.6 amps at all, in fact they barely run the bikes lights. At least I haven't damaged my bike and ha...

Actually just realised that a resistor on the main battery would be completely moronic and obliterate the whole point of the excercise which is to make the bike go better. Got a circuit designed and built and it doesn't not work, sadly I got another £%@&% puncture after only a mile. Got that ...

There's a Marina breaking for spares here: http://tinyurl.com/yvvpk5 No engine (good) and no front suspension (not so good, but maybe you can find one somewhere) My first car was the Marina and it's quite good, light and aerodynamic IMHO. Also it's quite rare nowadays and therefore cool from a class...

PS - The twistgrip has come off. Can it be replaced maybe? - I don't want to have to replace the whole thing when it's only a part of it that's broken.

Yeah, mine's like that.

Will it take a throttle for a motor scooter d'ya think? The alternative is probably waiting on the post from Ebayland.
