I've been flying R/C on and mainly off for the last 25 years. I prefer sailplanes and electric assist means I can now spend a good hour flying on one charge. Hi Nikki, What sort of costs have you found for an AC motor and controller? The best I can find is Metric Mind and Evisol. Thier AC motor and inverters are £6K plus batteries. Hi Martin, The Netgain Impulse 9 motor is very nice, but I believe it's at its most efficient at high voltages 144V, with a max voltage of 170.
