Re: Details for next years UK electric car subsidies announced

What I find fascinating about the whole Beeching thing is that so many miles of track have subsequently been reopened as "heritage railways" and are now doing very nicely... :? But getting back on topic: Let's see if the car companies can actually produce a vehicle that matches the criteri...

Re: Nissan Leaf Video

Hi.
Has anyone else gone for one of the Nissan "Experience" meetings around the UK? I'm just coming back from the morning one in London today, and was surprised to find I really *did* get a test drive. Nice car :D !

Aren't electric motors nice...

OK, I guess you guys know this already, but... I had a problem with the wipers not working on my 42 year-old car. No, it wasn't the fuse, or the earth, or the wiring - it was the motor. But being a 42 year-old motor, it was designed to be serviceable. So I took it all apart, cleaned out the rust and...

Re: Electric vehicle grants scheme

Silly me...
Thanks, Chris. I was sure you guys must have been discussing it, but didn't think of looking there.
It looks like it will be a good offer, just need the right car. And a bit of money to buy it with, I guess...

Electric vehicle grants scheme

Hi, Folks. I was meandering around the wonderful wide web just now, and stumbled across this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/feb/25/green-sports-cars-subsidise-taxpayers I gather that, last Thursday, the government announced a £2-5000 grant to subsidise the purchase of a new EV, starting...

Re: Electric car/van stickers or graphics

Hi, Sticks. I guess there's a little issue here of exactly what sort of graphics you might be looking for. Have you thought of poking around the World Wide Wonders? For example, I searched for "electric car graphics" came up with this: http://www.clipartof.com/gallery/clipart/electric_car....

Grip in the snow?

Hi, Folks. Yet another dumb question from me :? ... Looking at the videos of performance BEVs, they seem to provide loads of progressive power without wheelspin. I suspect that this might be because the electric motors tend to automatically compensate to deliver maximum power without losing traction...

Hi, WhyDelila. I'm interested in what you're saying here, and would be fascinated to know more: ...they cut out noise pollution and do not contribute to ground level ozone... Are you sure about that? The London underground produces large volumes of ozone as far as I'm aware; and it was always the sa...
