Re: My Smartdrive 2 Stage Savonius VAWT

I have recently been assembling a basic guyed Oil drum 2 stage Savonius VAWT using a LG Smartdrive motor/generator. Here are a few pics, I'll post more when it's up. http://www.solarvan.co.uk/savonius/savonius01.jpg http://www.solarvan.co.uk/savonius/savonius02.jpg http://www.solarvan.co.uk/savoniu...

Yeah, well I thought it wasn't suitable because it wasn't symmetrical, so Qdos drivers might get left out ;-)

That's very inspiring, thanks very much for that ! I have a motor which is ideal, apart from being heavy so I was looking towards somethign like an FJ1200/1100 frame or even a scrap Pan Euro with larger batteries and sneaky little generator for emergencies. My comute is 30 miles around, mostly downh...

Well done, I like that !

I think my first effort needs a context, like Qdos implied, it is a set of symbols without a context, maybe even some white lines down a black road woudl turn the round things into wheels and the electric wheels become more obvious. Maybe I'll play with it, maybe I'll no' !
