I'ld better be honest, i spent twelve years in the printing and publishing business as an engineer so I really ought to be into HTML, but in all honesty I'm forever changing and forgetting where I put images I've made already. New Year's resolution ' start using the Favourites facility' http://www.b...

I was reading about Ecotricity, who are currently the only supplier who can give you a 100% green tarriff, at a slight premium, and will match your local suppliers price for the regular tarriff which is slowly increasing in green-ness, much more than any of the majors. They're a small independent co...

Hi Chris A 90% charge in 5 minutes sounds great, but the problem is finding a charger or mains supply that can deliver that rate for a decent-sized pack. The energy density isn't brilliant even if it does include a BMS: 24V and 4.2Ah at a weight of 2 kilos is about 50 Wh/kg. That compares with arou...

Toshiba SCiB cells due out in March

Apologies if someone esle reported on this. A couple of years ago Toshiba released a statement about a high capacity cell, which looked in the photo like a tagged PP3 battery. It seems they are now all set to sell these into non-CE applications from March, into hybrids and so on. 5,000+ recharge cyc...

Off the top of my head...... I don't think there should be sparks on the logo anywhere, if the intention wwas going to be that. The reason being is it might look a little bit like a warning sign. I like the battery cell diagram in the current(!) design, but it may only be because I understand the sy...

Hi Martin. Two recent quotes, at either extreme look like this. >>>>>>>> I've discussed about the parameters you sent to me. Accordingly, I'd like to recommend you our EP60Ah battery. I suggest two EP60Ah batteries in parallel connection to reach 120Ah. This model of EP 60Ah can discharge at 1C-2C a...

Kokam are one way to go, that's for sure. I know TS cells have had their problems too.
The thing is someone had to be the first to try out Kokam didn't they, and as time goes on there is less likelihood that only one company can make decent cells, but you are quite right to say what you said
