Postby booboo » Sat Jun 14, 2008 3:07 pm

I'm hoping to be attending this event to show my mini-el and a Sinclair C5

It's a massive show and a good day out, don't forget to say hello if you see me there :D

Day 1 was a success...the mini-el was a star attraction :P

I had a few copies of Plugged In on display, I reckon I could have shifted a few BVS application forms etc. Next year I'll be better prepared :wink:

I've got some hilarious footage of my mini-el leading the way around the central display arena. The commentator was full of useful facts and info about the vehicles in front of him, but when the mini-el drew up he fell totally silent....he had absolutely no idea what it was :twisted:

When I spoke to him later I got the impression he wasnt a big fan of electric vehicles, he was less than complimentary about Enfields :roll:

Some piccies taken before the show opened;

Fantastic set of pic's there , thanks for sharing them and taking the time to put them on the forum ( far better in my view than just linking to a photo album 8) )

Sadly, no - that lovely small caravan was built by a gent called "Spike" who owns one of the 3-wheel "Lomax" cars also displayed on the micro-car section. He designed it to be towed by his 3-wheeler, the interior is laos amazing. Although it's a "single seater" it really does have everything you need 8)

The show was better attended on the Sunday, and there were more visitors and more exhibits.

Plus it was sunnier...as my red sunburnt face will testify :oops:

A few more piccies, this time the C5 and mini-el had the "corner plot" and again attracted quite a lot of attention.

This was a very enjoyable event, and very worthwhile. Martin and I were able to promote both C5alive and the BVS, plus we made some new friends, and hopefully ignited some enthusiasm for electric vehicles amongst some of the many youngsters (& recycled teenagers) that took the opportunity to sit in both the mini-el and the C5. :D

The second venture into the main display area on Sunday was a far greater success. The commentator came and took some details about the mini-el beforehand and did me proud :P

Quite a hectic weekend, but very successful :)
