Had a visit from Terry Harding this afternoon ( chap with the bike at the AGM ) and hes taking his leccy bike to this show at Southampton.

Now while its not exactly a BVS event this year he's given me the contact details for a chap to see if we can get into it next year in a proper BVS roll
I'm hoping to be able to take the Blingo down there to display this time though and do a bit of BVS promotion
If there is anyone else after coming to the show to display give me a shout and I'll see what we can do.
Hopefully next year we will be able to have a full blown BVS stand there

I keep shouting. It would be a good opportunity to maybe get a group of us from the South of England to go along I'm up for it so that's at least 3 of us now.
Give me a call 01258 837023 There's also the Electrathon in July too

OMG something has gone wrong bit late to ring Terry now but I'll find out in the morning.
I just copied the date off the website and had just assumed it was a Sunday as thats what Terry's been telling me all this time.
I am almost 100% sure its a Sunday but I'll find out later tomorrow.

Right just got off the phone from the chap whos organising it and he's confirmed its SUNDAY 10th, which is this Sunday.
He was very excited by the sounds of it having me and the Van come along especially as I will be arriving and departing all under electricity.
Of course I'll be pushing the BVS

Right here we are at last
Last Sunday I left home for a nice little 23 mile drive to the out skirts of Southampton and the brick works, which included a 15 mile blast down the M27
I arrived at the back gate in plenty of time to find the other eco peeps just begining to setting up. Terry arrived on the oxegene 15mins later and parked beside me and had his battery cover removed so peeps could see the Nickle Zinc batts
It wasnt as big as I had first thought it was going to be and only seemed to include the councils own re-cycling people and friends of the earth and the energy trust people, who where a lovely pair of ladies and I ended up fixing a few of their demo rigs as I appeared to be the only one who had bought a full tool kit with me
The brickworks musum was very interesting and while the eco side show didnt attract exactly 1000's of people there was a nice steady stream of visitors through out the whole day.
My Van as per the norm attracted a fair amount of attention as did Terry's electric moped which he parked up next to me.
Certainly if we can get a BVS gathering their next year I think it would make quite an impact. I had a word with the people their and they would be happy to give us power for re-charging
Just a couple of pics
Just set up and ready for the public
Bees round the honey pot
The council guy was very pleased we came along and I managed to dish out many BVS flyers and business cards to loads of interested folk.
