Can't believe peoples tv licence pays for that FUD.

Totally biased report IMO. EVs are designed as tools for particular job. Namely standard daily commuting.

What's next?

Maybe he'll do a report on the downsides of having to eat using only a fork for an entire week.

On BBC's next program, they should do the journey in a 1908 Ford Model T. It had a 40mph top speed and 130 mile range. Only stop at places that petrol was available back then.

One funny episode could feature...
Ford relied on gravity to feed fuel to the carburetor, rather than a fuel pump, a Model T could not climb a steep hill when the fuel level was low. The immediate solution was often to drive up steep hills in reverse.

It would then be obvious to all that this petrol motor car thing is an expensive hoax. Train and horse is the safest, cheapest and most comforatable option.

Just regular Media hype

I've lost all interest in anything the media does these days, its never right, its never accurate, its never done with the correct intention and is aimed at sensationalism rather than fact and so I rarely take any notice of it.
I think the folks who take notice of any of it are the ones who have the problems, dont let it wind us all up, people will buy EV's as and when they are ready to, regardless of what the BBC or anyone else says.

The problems will come when more and more people start using EV's and the government realise we are all avoiding road fuel duty and then slap massive rises on tax disks but thats a whole different subject

It's clear that the BBC have already reacted to the pressure. BBC Breakfast actually changed it's stance during the trip and on the final broadcast said it cost 10 GBP to drive the EV, vs estimated 51 for guzzler. This came immediately after a report on the high cost of petrol – average family sedan should cost 70 quid, etc. Way better than expected!

Many websites have also picked up the story and Tesla sent press releases to 150 news agencies around the world. The campaign continues next week on Tesla's Facebook page (25,000 'friends').

I know that many people think this is pointless, but I believe we can force the BBC to be more careful about their EV reporting in future. All we need is a 30 second video asking the BBC to be fair and balanced in their EV reporting.
