To all,
You might have seen this event listed on your dairy page and as there's not a thread for the 2011 event yet I thought I'd start one.
I work at Santa Pod as the AER event coordinator and having had a number of successful conversations with John Cave, I'm very pleased to be working with the BVS on this year's Alternative Energy Racing event.
I'm taking entries now so if you would like to take part please visit the AE web site and submit your entry (http://www.aeracing.org , it very simple and will only take a few minutes). It would be get to see as many of you at the event and hopefully it will be our best yet - I'm hoping for up to 50 entries!
If you have any questions please post them here and I'll try and answer them asap.

We're planning on being there this year as well , electrcDave wants to unleash the c-5000 again (he's going to tweak it for this event )

Less than five weeks to the AER event. If you are competing could you please let me know your charging requirements as I am trying to collate this information for AER.
Chris Dredge has reserved an area for a 'tight and twisty' track. This proved popular at Electrathon 2010 and gives BVS members extended testing time.

Hi, John, hope all is good for you and yours
For me, "3 main chargers...." (or more, see below)
1 x 48v.dc, Zivan 48v.dc input 12amp 230v.ac output 30amp 48v.dc
2 x 12v.dc Common or garden 12v.dc mains chargers, 10amp output
('cos that's all I got, presently, to produce 72v.dc for 6 on-board YTs)
PLUS some more spare 12v.dc mains chargers, around 4 to 6 amps
All charger input cables fitted with 13amp 230v.ac 3-pin plugs with 13amp fuses
PLUS 2 spare YTs, parallel-wired, to be kept as near fully charged as possible
The spare YTs to transfer 12v.dc to one on-board YT at a time.........
Heath Robinson would be appalled, I think.....

Access to 240V 32A "commando" sockets would allow Tesla's to recharge during the day.
For competition, 240V 80A on a 125A "commando" socket would allow use of the Tesla 'fast' charge mode.

Have you encouraged a friend to come to Santa Pod yet?
AER are hoping for forty vehicles in total - let's surprise them. Can we make it forty EV's including bicycles?
