I have spoken to Alex Stringer and he confirmed that this year the event is only open to vehicles capable of a 50 mph terminal speed for the standing quarter mile. This excludes a large number of AER stalwarts and experimenters.

There will be no handling track this year. Alex said that they hope to plan for a bigger event next year. I hope that is the case because the venue has so much scope. This could be a major event with manufacturers and test drives for the public on a pow speed circuit.

To make it happen the planning for 2014 needs to start now. I offered support but got no response for almost three months by which time it was all too late.

Who else is going to this? I've registered.

Sounds like a much diminished field compared to the previous two years visits.

The date for A.E.R has now changed to ensure that it doent clash with the summer holidays, to allow the most possible teams to enter from schools, colleges and universities. The date has now been set for the 29th march 2014, sorry for any Inconvenience.
