The question is ;
Will a lithium based grease cause damage to the nylon gears in a "plastic" gearbox as fitted to the Sinclair C5 ?
I've been using the stuff for a few years now with no apparent ill effects, but the question has be raised so I thought I'd gather some more info on the subject.

Re: Question for the mechanic types ?
i doubt it very much.we use it on plastic/nylon gears in a factory with no ill effects.but to be 100% sure contact the grease manufacturers technical department.
which when asked as an apprentice "what kind of oil should you use in this gearbox "the answer should always be "whatever the manufacturer specifies".
