Well... we fixed it!
A two hour turn-around too, between terrible bearings and good ones. Can't complain at that, can I?
Both bearings were shot. One was even rusty. With new bearings in place I have a nice smooth ride again. Phew! I thought it was going to be expensive, but it's ended up being a nice cheap reapair.
John turned up with his camera, so we have a nice photo album of the repair

Yeah, shocking, isn't it? I've put some more 6004Z in there for the time being as they're what I had lying around.
I shall, however, be ordering 2RS for a not-so cold day when the sun is out and I can replace all the bearings with likewise bearings!
