Re-Charging in Orpington

Do you own or use a EV. Then this is a good place to discuss things.

Re-Charging in Orpington

Postby martinwinlow » Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:46 pm

Hi All,

Some wag in 'senior management' has decided it would be a good idea to send me on a course in Orpington, Kent (BR6 0TW) for 2 weeks and I can't find anywhere to charge the old EV. Anyone got any ideas?

Regards, MW.

The BVS treasurer, Neil Baxter is on the ev-network (as are you, I note). He is a little way out of Orpington, but not too far.

The BVS does have a member in BR6 but I would have to ask him first before giving you his number. Let me know what you had in mind (PM , phone or email)

Good thoughts from Tim.

Also, have you tried what sales-people call the 'presumptive close'?

i.e. phone the venue where the course is, and tell them that you will be coming in your EV, and bringing an extension lead, and ask where you will need to put the EV in order to be able to charge up

I have found that working on the assumption that it WILL be possible often encourages training/hotel venues to make it possible.

With hotels, when I tell them I can't stay there unless they can let us charge up, they always find a way

Worth a try?

De Vere venues hotels have been most helpful in this regard.

Closest that the EV Network gets is Bromley or Crockenhill.
