Remy HVH250 group buy.

Postby E30_Dave » Fri Feb 08, 2013 10:28 am

Dear All,

I write to ask if anyone would be interested in joining a group buy of the Remy HVH250-090PO motor.

They are expensive as single units, but batches of 10 or more attract a discount from the supplier of 20%.

The supplier's web-page is http://www.vaxosystems.com/store/products/104-hvh250-090po-pm-g1-remy-electric-motor.aspx

...and the relevant data is at https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=8 ... D11A39!514

Best Regards,

Dave.

I suggest you seriously consider the powerful UK based yasa-400 motor and the others in the product range.
They use a sevcon gen 4 controller also UK based.

Much lighter and more compact for a start. No import duty customs, vat etc etc

Hi Peter,

Many thanks for your reply - I will send them a price enquiry.

I must say, I wasn't aware they were VAT exempt !

As a matter of interest, and slightly off topic is CP Motors RFTR series, but I have yet to receive a reply to my enquiry...

...and Ashwoods Automotive in Exeter have a 14.9kW axial flux motor available, but they currently have a more powerful version in development...

Best Regards,

Dave.

I wasn't implying they were exempt, I was highlighting the fact that prices from abroad don't include the vat and import duty etc you will have to pay when it arrives in UK so they can appear competetive until you factor all that in.

Also if it goes wrong are you really going to send your motor etc back to a foreign country where you have bugger all protection.

At least if they are based here you could visit them!

Fair point, but with a product of that pedigree, I would only expect it to go wrong if severely abused.

As for a product from this great nation of ours, I suspect the YASA motor will be more expensive, even after factoring in the import duty and VAT - I've submitted an enquiry, so assuming they have the decency to reply, time will tell !

Anyway, back to the topic.

I was very approx quoted £10,000 for a one off yasa 400 motor and matched sevcon G4 controller for a 400v 150kw system about 6 months ago where I spoke to there chap on a trade stand.

Sorry i'm not up for a group buy on the motor you mentioned but would consider the yasa 400 setup.

OK.. no problem.

I asked for a batch price from YASA, so I'll advise as to their response as and when it comes.

Cheers,

Dave.
