Peter,

Can you post a high res pic of the assembled master board? I want to check mine, I think I need to remove some caps.

This would be more of Peter's area I think. Any thoughts Peter?

I would think any equivalent part would do, i dont have any recommendations. With a few minor changes to the software it could be omitted and the pic eeprom used instead. We certainly have never fully utilised the eeprom in either the pic or the AT chip.

If anyone running the BMS has any spare ATMEL AT24C512B eeprom chips then please let the forum know, as a group from Newcastle University is after one chip if some kind soul could oblige on here. I don't have any spares.

If anyone can reccomend a substitue great.

The device is still listed by ATMEL so an e-mail to them for a few if they have some left may well be worth it. Especially from the newcastle team members. ;)
