Berlingo won't charge - sagem fault?

Postby highend » Fri Aug 24, 2012 12:44 pm

I've got one Berlingo from one of forum members and I'm quite unhappy with it.
It won't charge. When plugged it starts charging (green light flashes) but there is nothing coming to batteries (I see on EVLITE) and after one minute it switches off.

All other things (12V aux, temp-sensor, water in cooler) - are OK.

There comes B6 fault. I've also connected LEXIA and it gave me error:

"high voltage charging fault".

I have removed sagem controller and put another one - problem solved! So there is definitelly problem with charger inside SAGEM. Had anybody experience with that? Is that repairable?

This is a common fault. Had it about three times now, on various vehicles. It is repairable by Evan Tuer in scotland. Not cheap though, but worth it to get the vans back in use.

I too rely on Evan to fix various controller faults.

Without wanting to denigrate Evan's skill and knowledge in any way, it saddens me that he is the only person in the whole of the UK that we can turn to to fix these regular faults. I'm sure he gets sick of doing them from time to time as well.

Is there anyone else out there?

maybe he could make some repair information public?
for example I know in Poland two guys who could repair DC-DC coverter.
But didn't asked about charger yet.

If this is a common problem - then there should be common solution....

Likewise, trouble is while evan doesnt make any of the info available to even berlingo owners he will always end up having to do them, nice little earner mind you

got it sorted - needed repair to charger inside sagembox.
So in case somebody needs to repair controller - I know one person who does it right. Importing needed parts from other countries (Sweden for example) if needed. That person lives in LODZ - Poland. But probably for you - Evan from Scotland is closer.
