Be interesting what it goes for , anyone here going to have a punt at it ?? if not I'll give it a go ( not sure what I'd use it for mind you ) I wont go for it if others are going to have a go, no point in us bidding against each other is there

I may use this as my plan B, as i have spoken to the head cases at z cars and I'm going to see them tomorrow, it's about an hour or so from me plus can visit family and go paddling on the beach.
I'm taking my wait so i mean business

Ayleybury is not that far from me and just the transmission wouldn't be too bad to post. You can get a pallet delivered almost anywhere in the country for £45. I had 3/4 Ton of diesel gen-set arrive that way.
Forget the overpriced Z-cars approach (except for inspiration). Do it the old fashioned way. Take your existing mini diff and change the bearings for sealed (2RSR suffix) ones. Clamp these in a couple of mounting blocks. Wind a strip of steel around the spider gear casing to act as a weather shield and coat the gears with 'open gear' lubricant. Bolt a toothed pulley or chain sprocket in place of the crown gear.
This is the way they were doing bike pwered hillclimb cars 20-30 years ago, long before the latest craze for fitting Hyabusa engines into everything.
The microcar transmission will get you a mechanical reverse, which is much cheaper than if you have to buy a reversing contactor set.

That's a Monster!
The motor is probably a series wound type, which has a non-linear relationship between currrent and torque and hence a non linear relationship between voltage and rpm. In fact off load the motor will try and rev to infinity. If the voltage is low enough then friction and windage will hold the rpm down, but hit it with the full 72 volt and you could burst the armature.
You should be able to make it work, but it's going to take some experimentation to work out the gearing.
