Possible show at Milestones, Basingstoke

Postby arsharpe » Sat Jun 23, 2007 4:12 pm

I have just chatted to the curator at Milestone and he said:-

a) they are thinking of doing a green show.

b) they have had car shows in the past

c) it only starts to cost money if a marquee was required.

d) he would like to know how many vehicles we could supply, etc (well I can supply a Prius and Berlingo)

Nikki/Kelvin:
Who do you want to develop the contact (gary.wragg@hants.gov.uk, 01962 826700).
I am happy to do it.
Nikki, what PR material have we got that we can send ?

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Do we have any dates for the show? Potential dates perhaps?

I'm out for the evening and have spent all day putting roofs on city Els... ;)

I'll have a think tonight and post tomorrow :)

Milestones is a fantastic location for a show. If you've never been, you're in for a treat. It is a museum with a difference - its laid out as two small towns, one from the 1890s and one from the 1940s.

You get to wander in and out of factories, houses, shops and town squares; have a beer and a game of shove ha-penny or dominos in the pub and chat to the locals.

Unfortunately, I'm moving out of the area, otherwise you'd have a G-Wiz there as well. But I'll come along to the event.

Well done! looks like we've got a superb venue for some activities and you may well have just volunteered to be one of the South Coast's norhtern counties contact all we have to do now is make you a fully fledged member ! ;)

Drop me a line or catch me online with any dates they come back to you with and we'll see if we can get something organised for a meet at Basingstoke

Seems to me that as soon as we have a date we can try to sort something out.

I guess it'd need the BEVOB marquee or possibly the south one (do you have one, Kelvin?) bringing but it wouldn't be a problem I don't think. Dates are important though. - As JP has said in this magazine (or letter, I don't remember which) the BVS is moving toward more regional based activities which means we need as many local people on board for any event!

Nikki.

Good Good looks like we are in agreement and that you've volunteered to take on organising something at the North end of the Southern Region there ;)

Let me know when there's anything on which we can come along to with some EVs and I'll try and get some bods to give a talk or two as well :)
