ecovelocity 8-11 Sept

Postby jonathan jewkes » Tue Jul 19, 2011 11:29 am

In case it hasn't appeared on this forum yet:

"Ecovelocity" is a show for electric vehicles (bikes and cars). In the grounds of Battersea Power Station; runs from Thurs 8 to Sun 11 Sept 2011.
Website says there will be tracks on which you can have test drives on bikes and in production EVs (bring both parts of your driving licence).
Also some eco-supercars on show (but presumably not for test drives!)
And a variety of eco-shops

Tickets £10 for adults, £25 family.
(If you book a test drive in a Mitsubishi i-MiEV with your local dealer, they will enter you into a lucky draw for a pair of free tickets)

Hi Jonathan and all , The BVS was approached about having a stand at Ecovelocity but the cost for us is prohibitive (£500),which leads me to think whether we should be looking for sponsership ,if we had Sam and Oly Youngs Blackcurrent Beetle and say a top privately built sprint bike and battery sponsor ( Ian Goodman ) ? then maybe we could have a presence there, its not too late! :|

We will be there with a Sinclair C5 taking part in the daily parades . It will probably be one of the oldest vehicles there and most likely the cheapest

Look like it could be a superb event if only the weather behaves itself !

The Ecovelocity event is looking impressive. Just returned from setting up our Sinclair c5 stand there...we've got carpets, lights and electricity to keep us comfy - proper posh ! Finally made it to the big time

I agree with booboo it was a great event with lots of efficient ICE vehicles as well. Disappointed that I couldn't get a look at the Smart conversion. They would only show me inside the car and inside the boot, but aa a show it was a good step forward.

Why not a similar event at another venue such as Shakespeare County Racway? It would provide an opportunity for people in another part of the country to experience these vehicles.

Talking of Shakespeare County Raceway...... October 1st and 2nd ring a bell?
